TBH, yes they can. Anyone kipping in a council car pk (or anywhere for that matter) could be of interest to them. Before I converted my LWB high top Transit, I was using it for long distance courier work, which involved me sleeping overnight in it. I used to park up with lorries etc on trading estates, but sometimes as they start up at circa 4am, one night I decided to park in a quiet area in a village.(curtains round the cab windows).
bang, bang, bang on the door at about midnight, and 4! policemen. Asked me who I was, what I was doing etc and once proved, they went.
They told me there had been a spate of burglaries in the area, and needed to check me out.
For all they know, you could be a wanted man, and that’s another reason they do it, if the vehicle doesn’t look quite like “the norm” for sleeping in.mgroadsterParticipantTBH, yes they can. Anyone

Hi welcome,
You appear to have quite a healthy budget. I know from car forums the scarcity of some models over there. If you buy on the UK mainland, will you have to pay any taxes or re-register it etc.? or is it plain & simple?mgroadsterParticipantHi welcome,

Hi welcome,
At least you’ll be fine on the spanners. Maybe you could have got one of your ex RAC transits to convert for day use now you have moved onto VW’s.
My mate is an RAC patrol down here in Suffolk and was quite perplexed at losing his Transit in favour of the VW. Maybe there are those who prefer them and those that don’t.
Not familiar with the Iveco, but looks like you’ll have a blank canvas on which to work.mgroadsterParticipantHi welcome,

Welcome, Sounds like you have some work to do!
Once you have taken all the weight out of the Burstner, maybe you can sell the rolling shell on fleabay as well? Folk buy em for all sorts, like sheds/workshops etc.
I always end up travelling for motors, as they are never near home!
Sounds like you got a good deal on the Pug boxer.mgroadsterParticipantWelcome, Sounds like you have

Hi, We have a Transit LWB high roof and all space is at a premium although we designed it & built it ourselves…under the seats, in the wardrobe, in the loo room, under the kitchen units…you name it.
Also there is a storage space above the cab.mgroadsterParticipantHi, We have a Transit LWB

If you’re just looking for somewhere to park up….trading estates are always good, where truckers normally park up also.
When I was long distance couriering in my van before converting it, I always slept on industrial estates.
Not sure about official sites though. - AuthorPosts
