If you’re just looking for
If you’re just looking for somewhere to park up….trading estates are always good, where truckers normally park up also.
When I was long distance couriering in my van before converting it, I always slept on industrial estates.
Not sure about official sites though.mgroadsterParticipantWas with Adrian Flux last
Was with Adrian Flux last year, but this year Shield are cheaper, so I’ll go with them.mgroadsterParticipantWas with Adrian Flux last

Before I did my conversion, I had NEVER done anything like it before, however….I bought a used hob top & sink unit off Ebay.
I then bought sheets of MDF from my local builders merchant and made two sides, a front & a back.
I then cut out 3 squares in the front sheet to make cupboards and then cut out doors to cover the holes. I then put the small hinges on and put the doors on.
I bought a worktop from B&Q and cut out the top to take the hob & sink.
I covered the sides & front with red carpet I bought from “Carpetright” for a few quid and put stainless handles on the cupboard doors….looks a treat. If I can do it…YOU CAN DO IT! MDF & lining carpet is your friend.mgroadsterParticipantBefore I did my conversion, I

Hi, First of all I’m not sure what you mean about “safety rating of most camper vans”???
Must admit you have stumped me with that one?
Local authorities are getting more savvy day by day, especially in particularly nice beach areas and put height barriers at the entrance to their car parks.
I know what I’d rather have and that is a camper van any day.
If you have a folding trailor, you have to ensure it’s safety, and if you want to leave it, you need to have it well secured.
A campervan is easier to make secure.
I once hired a folder to take to the south of France, it was ok, but yes you have to pack it all up before moving off, whilst with a campervan, you just…..drive off.
Converting a panel van to a camper is the cheapest option and you have it HOW YOU WANT IT. Cheers.mgroadsterParticipantHi, First of all I’m not sure

Hi, welcome.
Not familiar with these vehicles and not sure which Diesel engine would be compatible to put in. With most vehicles, with some re-designing of chassis engine mounts etc other engine choices can be made.
If you have the room to alter etc. You can virtually do anything you want providing you can do good quality welding etc.
On a different note, A guy in my local car club (I’m an Alfa colector)has made a magnificent job of putting a Ford sierra cosworh engine and gearbox into a Mini!
Anything is achievable with thought and the right tools.September 22, 2013 at 7:03 am in reply to: 1983 4X4 Dodge 360 with Pathfinder to Duramax Diesel #117085mgroadsterParticipantHi, welcome.

Nice to hear about similar interests, even down to the cars. I’m an Alfa man with a spider & a GTV V6 3.0.(besides our Transit camper).
What Ford is it?
Where do you travel to in your camper?mgroadsterParticipantNice to hear about similar

You won’t find many sites willing to put up with a noise after certain times…ie 10/11pm.
If a late noise is going to be the case, I would stay off the main sites and wild camp.
What about asking to park up in pub car parks if you intend using them for your celebrations.
If it’s a super market load up and off for a good time…wild camping.September 10, 2013 at 5:57 pm in reply to: Advice on not upsetting locals and fellow campers #117149mgroadsterParticipantYou won’t find many sites
