Making the seats and beds

I have bought a complete cushion set from eBay. It did cost £100 but I very happy with them. They are in very good condition and seem little used. I spent time trying to find a local used caravan dealer with some, but couldn’t find any suitable. These where on eBay and only cost £11 to be shipped. As I have the cushions I can now plan the seats. I start to put them together.

As I have the cushions I can now plan the seats. I start to put them together. There will be a L shape which will make a double bed.

Seat and bed frame

The frames are timber framed, with a hinged 9mm ply lid. Inspired by many summers enhoying my parents and grandparents caravans. Sadly all have given up their camping now.

The hinges where recessed to allow the top to open easily. The lid was cut 10mm short on each edge to allow it to open without hitting the other cushions.

I decided to make the bed fold as from a seat. This seat has a second 9mm top, that folds out from the top. Timber will support the bed once folded out. This pevents having to stow a table anwhere. I nearly went with using a custom made table, but it would have been too big to use, and difficult to store.
