Madrid day 2 – Reina Sofia Museum and the Palicia Real, Spain

Steve and get up late, and then head out for coffee. We head towards the Prado museum, as entry is free today as it is another public holiday. The queue is massive though, and Steve is not keen. I head down to the Renia Sofia museum, and Steve wanders off for a walk.

The Renia Sofia museum has lots of good paintings on display.

The Renia Sofia museum has lots of good paintings on display. I particularly enjoy the Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso pieces.

After the museum I walk around for a while, grab a coffee and then a bocadillo, before heading to the Palicia Royal. I get in for free with my EU passport. The palace is good but not as impressive as that of Paris.

I head back to the hotel, and relax for a while. I find and book a holiday to Ibiza for Steve and I in the evening. We then go out for drinks.

We walk further north than we have been before, and found the clubbing area of Madrid. We soon realise that we are in the gay region of town. Without a girl in sight we are getting quite a few looks from the guys. As Steve put it, one guy ‘all but licked’ me! We stroll further and find a nice looking bar. We stay for 4 drinks each as the vibe is good, and the pinchos are great. As we are there we realise that the bar is a lesbian bar. The toilets have the words Nosotras (us, female) and Vosotros (you) on the doors. I obviously use the later. It is late by the time we leave and we head back to the hotel.
