The luxury of my van

When staying around other vans, particularly free camping, I always take a look at other peoples vans. Only a couple have been as big as mine, but few are as nice inside. There are many VW camper vans around, but people always seem to struggle for space inside them, with their possessions immediately spilling out. My van feels very luxurious most of the time.

When I stay in campsites away from surf areas the occupants are almost always Brits in large motorhomes. My van then feels a bit inadequate, with one guy offering me a coffee! Perhaps he though I was sleeping on the floor?

The three lads from Devon, who I met in Vila Praia de Ancora, were all staying in a VW transporter. The back was permanently made into a bed, which they all had to share. With their four surfboards and many boxes of possessions they were quite cramped. They could only sit down in the front. One of them was flying home, which will make life much more luxurious for the other 2. I felt sorry for them, and they were very jealous of the space of my van.

I'm a huge campervan enthusiast, and the maker of CampervanLife.com. I believe everyone can convert their own campervan, and enjoy a great lifestyle with it.
