Sightseeing in Evora, Alentejo, Portugal

It’s rainy this morning. I decide to stay in the campsite another night, as it is fairly cheap. I stay in the van until after lunchtime, when I jump on my bike and head into town. I chain up my bike and get a map from the turismo. I visit the roman temple and see the aqueduct, before the rain starts again. I seek shelter in an internet café.

After an hour the rain has cleared and I head over to the Igreja de Sao Francisco. Inside the church is the spectacular Capela dos Ossos. The Capela is lined with the bones and skulls of over 400 monks. The bones where taken from the 40 or so tombs around the city and collected together.

I ride back to the campsite and relax for the rest of the day.
