now theres a good idea. i wish i could do the same but the dragons painted on the sides of my bus and the row of festival lights are a bit of a giveaway!

Having said that ive only ever been moved on once and that was by the spanish police in Barcelona after parking up for the night in a residential area; we were desparate for somewhere else safe to stay after having been broken into.
Mostly i’ll ask if its okay to park up and always get a good response from supermarkets pub car parks etc.

    happy, stealthy camping

    HI there,
    Cuh! Insurers eh?
But i have to say that the above brokers have been excellent with me. As far as my experience goes campers are cheaper to insure than commercials anyway and these guys are specialist in unusual vehicles, kit cars, etc. Im sure they would give you a very reasonable quote. YOu’ll find them online
    regards Suz

    As a novice campervanner.
With the experience that MGR has behind him i can understand his advice to buy a base van to convert and at the stage im at i would too but if you really are a rookie i wouldnt rule out buying a coach-built camper for your first one. The thing is they hold there price, even at the bottom end…as evidenced by the ticket on this Talbot you’ve been offered. And if you want to begin your trip this year rather than sourcing and then squaring up to a self build, id go for one ready to roll if i were you. That way you get to know what you want, you’ll get your money back next spring, and it’ll give you time to get your head around a self build if you decide to go down that route.
The Talbot i had was diesel and only returned 29mph at best. it really was a rubbish van. And yep MGR your right it was a Peugeot engine..
Insurance btw isnt too bad if you go with a specialist broker. Im happy with 2gether Insurance based in Wisbech. Comprehensive policy with 180 day european cover and 5* breakdown in europe £340. Not too bad at all i think

So, between us i hope we havent put you off. Good luck and keep asking questions!
