El Palmar, Andalucía, Spain

The early clouds clear to reveal another lovely day. I spend the morning pottering around the van. In the afternoon I go for a surf, the first for a long time. I enjoy it, the waves were better than they looked. On my way back to the van I see Nick and Becky who I spoke with at Trafalgar. They are going to a bar in the evening and invite me along.

They say they will call in at around 9pm.

Nick calls earlier than 9, as the band in the bar finishes at 9 and they want to catch some of them. The bar is a nice rustic looking place. It is very busy, attracting the young crowd in town. The band have no singer and are quite scrappy, it’s nice to hear though. Along with Nick and Beck is Simon, who I met before, and an Aussie guy, whose name I can’t remember. We chat for a good while. We also meet a guy called buster, who is from Truro. We talk about who we know in common, but I can’t think of many names. It seems like I haven’t been in Truro for 10 years, rather than the 1 year it has actually been. We also meet a Dutch girl called Corinne. She works at one of the campsites nearby. Hopefully we’ll meet her again soon. We get back to our vans quite late.
