Beja and a drive back to the beautiful Praia de Malhao, Alentejo, Portugal

It is another beautiful day. I leisurely get myself and the van ready. I say goodbye to the Dutch chap. I stop at the supermarket and get some supplies.

The drive across the country is nice and without event. When I get to Malhao Steve, and a French couple, are parked up. I go in for a surf with have a bad one. A fin digs into my leg, just as in Lacanau-Ocean in France, months ago.

A fin digs into my leg, just as in Lacanau-Ocean in France, months ago. I am really struggling with my surfing now, and I don’t know what to do. I think a longboard will get me catching waves again, but I cannot store one. Surely a mini-mal is good enough? Steve thinks that maybe a fish will help me, as the board will be shorter. I don’t know what to think. The fin has hurt my leg badly, and I don’t think I will be surfing for a few days.

Steve and I spend the afternoon sitting in the sun. I catch a lot of it, and have some redness, for probably the first time on this trip.
