It’s my birthday today. What a lovely way to wake up all snuggly and warm in the camper a beautiful sunny day and sea view. How much that view would cost in a hotel I couldn’t imagine the joys of camping are becoming very clear to me.
Went to the toilet and saw the camper with the lovely light. I knocked on the door and a girl answered she is another surfer who is just traveliing on her own finding places to surf. The inside of her camper was gorgeous I am so jealous. It was very personalised and luxurious. Crushed velvet curtains, chandelier and solar powered fairy lights. She had a flowery fridge and throws all over her seats. her surfboard was stored on the ceiling. It was a high top VW camper. She said she loves living in her camper and her dream when she retires is to live in it and travel to Morocco. The other van had a bloke in who was obviously waiting for surf as well as his board was out but in a little sleeve thing, the sea was very flat and about half hour later he drove off.
I opened my presents ate chocolates for breakfast then headed off to staithes where we were meeting friends who were at a campsite there. We decided to stay in the council carpark right infront of the site to save money. Mark made full english while me and rider went off to find our friends.
Staithes is a beautiful little seaside village where you can go rock pooling and crabbing and its very quaint. There is a playground for children and the top where you park, so we stayed there for a bit and then headed off to the beach. My mum and niece joined us later and wanted to stop, we said that would be grate but secretly wondered to ourselves where we would all sleep! Me and mark decided that Rider and my niece (also 3) could sleep on the floor in Riders sleeping bag, me and my mum on the bed in the double sleeping bag and mark on the passenger chair which winds back.
The weather changed for the worse and as we headed back to camp it started to rain. We all got in the camper (named “sully” by Rider) and I made spagetti bolognaise for everyone for tea. Our friends invited us over to their tents for drinks so we went. It was windy and cold and I decided that although I adore my camper I really don’t like it in a tent so much, it was noisy and felt damp. My mum must have thought it was going to be a horrible night ’cause she changed her mind about staying and drove herself and my niece home. I longed for the luxury of our camper so we stayed a little longer around a nice camp fire, Rider fell asleep so we went back to the camper. It was bliss in our little bed and we went straight to sleep.
