You wake up and decide you need a change

It was the 10th of January 2012 I was a 48 year old single Englishman, no children, no ties and wondering what do I want to do with the rest of my life?

It was the 10th of January 2012 I was a 48 year old single Englishman, no children, no ties and wondering what do I want to do with the rest of my life?

I have to say it was easier to say what I did not want to do than what I wanted to do. I work in IT looking after small companies and some home users and love it, but I knew I wanted a change.

World Expedition:

With some money saved up and rent from my house I decided I wanted to go on a world expedition before my health stopped that opportunity. Wanting to change must be the same ambition almost everyone in the world wants. When you’re young you want to be older; when you’re middle-aged you want to be younger; when you’re sad you want to be happy; when you’re poor you want to be richer and when you’re hungry you want to be fed.

World Expedition – Facebook Post:

It is not always so easy to decide what you want to do, and it took me several months to work it out. On 3rd August 2012 I published on facebook: “I am thinking about finishing work next year when I am 50 and going on a Round The World Trip! It is clear that I am not getting younger and no one on their death bed ever said “I wish I spent more time working!” I have researched and decided that the Best vehicle for the job is a Land Rover and so am planning to get one Custom Built. This is my idea of what I am going to build. Holiday visits welcome.”
