Sitges, Catalunya to Etxarri Aranatz, Navarra, via many beautiful sights, Spain

Jess and I leave the campsite and head for the airport. On the way we get stuck in a big traffic jam, the first real one I have seen on the whole trip. Although we barely move for 45 minutes we get going again and I drop Jess off at the airport with plenty of time remaining. We say our goodbyes and I hit the road again.

I spend a long time driving, making my way northeast across Spain.

I spend a long time driving, making my way northeast across Spain. I take a road that goes into the Pyrenees. Although the climb is steep, when I reach the peak I get a stunning view. I pull over where 3 bikers from the UK are stopped. I take in the views for a while.

I continue on my trip. I pass a beautiful lake and stop several times. I see 2 motorhomes parked on a large car park. It is late in the day and I consider stopping for the night. I notice 2 separate patches of broken window glass on the ground, which I assume are from break-ins. I decide to keep on driving. I hope the motorhomes there did not have any trouble.

I take a detour into Pamplona, assuming there to be a campsite near the city. However, there isn’t, so I kept driving, having made my way back out of the city. I stop for coffee and decide to keep driving towards San Vicente de la Barquera in the hope of making it that night. After just a short time though I see a campsite sign. I am in the Basque country now and things take on a different shape. I follow the sign, through a town and a small industrial area, and arrive at a beautiful campsite. The friendly owner checks me in and I find a pitch.
