Porto, almost missing a bus in Coimbra and Peniche

I leave Carlos’s apartment and head into Porto. I have a nice breakfast of croissants and coffee and a nice café. I buy the Rough Guide to Portuguese at a book shop I visited on Saturday. I get the bus to Coimbra.

At Coimbra I decide to take a walk around, as I have to wait 1 hour. I stroll around, and decide to eat.

At Coimbra I decide to take a walk around, as I have to wait 1 hour. I stroll around, and decide to eat. The waiter says the food will take 10 minutes, but 20 minutes later it comes, and I am anxious I will miss the bus. I eat my food whilst I walk. When I realise I have walked further than I though I run to the bus station. I get there at exactly the time the bus is meant to depart. Most buses have been late, so far. I find the bus and it is just about to go. I get on just in time.

I arrive in Peniche, but at a bus stop further to the back of town. I stroll through, eventually finding a cash point with money. I notice a portable toilet in a shop that sells camping equipment. It coasts €118.40 (£85), which seems expensive, but it does seem like a small model. I’ll think about it.

I walk back to the campsite, via the supermarket. The English couple have been minding my van, so it is fine. I chat with them and they invite me over for beers tonight.
