The weather started really well in Peniche today. It was really sunny and warm until about 5pm. I had a surf in the morning, but the swell was tiny. I checked in the afternoon, but the swell was even smaller. I spent the day working on my tan and reading. In the afternoon 4 different UK motorhomes arrived in the campsite. We all saw a massive storm approaching. Just before dark it started to rain, and the most aggressive thunderstorm yet passed overhead. For several hours it rained and rained, with massive forks of lightning striking the ground nearby.
The swell report is small for the forthcoming week. I have decided to move onto Praia de Areia Branca tomorrow, as it should pick up more swell than Peniche. Then I can start making my way towards Ericeira, Lisbon and the Algarve.
