out with the old in with the new

when rosie arrived she had some awful yellow velvet seats,we promptly removed these and the bunks underneath as there was an awful smell attached to them, after scrubbing the interior we decided we needed bigger bunks that could be used as 2x singles or 1x double,so our quest began,we found a caravan breaker that had what we wanted a bonus was the nearly new cushions in the van he was breaking,£130 lighter i loaded it all into my trusty old mitsubishi challenger, well no tell a lie i had to make 2 trips,

saturday 29th june 2013,well the day dawned cloudy but warm so we decided to spend another day on rosie {well otherwise she that must be obeyed would start hankering after decking again for the back garden}..we bought 6 metres of the carpet lining that matched our first stuff silver/grey from a great supplier in heckmondwicke just down the road from us £55 lighter but i did get 2 tins of adhesive included in the price ..we set to with a renewed vigour determined to make a mark on her before we have our weeks holiday in july..10 hours later we are sat exhausted but happy..all the lining has been done,we have fixed the bunks in place and the floor carpet is laid,

saturday 6th july 2013..summer has officially arrived this week i have spent a couple of hours after work sanding the body ready for painting,i have applied grey primer to the cab and red primer to the rear body this is because i,m thinking of giving the cab a lighter colour than the midnight blue we have gone for on the rear body, mind you its been a bit hit and miss as i didn,t rub it down enough i think, so the primer was a nightmare to apply running..streaking etc but its now on to a degree,we have also strengthened the kitchen unit,i,m thinking of removing the eberspacher night heater throwing it on ebay along with a fiamma water tank i bought thats to big to fit where i had originally planned it to go

wednesday 10th july 2013…just a quick one,i read in a landrover mag how to get the best results from roller painting so gave up on the throwing primer on like it was going out of fashion idea..much to the disappointment of my local motor factors who i think was planning on an expansion of his shop from the profits of my project, and bought some starbrite pads to prime the paint ready to apply the new paint,if the info works in the landy mag i will let everyone know because apparently if you follow their guide you can get great results..
