One more thing. The operation of the bed is made much smoother by means of adding this strip of thin ply whole length of the bed. You can see that I’ve screwed the ply to each sliding slat (used glue aswell). I also chamfered the underside leading edges to allow the slats to easily slide over the rear rail when pushed back in.
