Converting my Toyota Hiace.
Its going to have a fixed kitchen between the sliding and the back door and a removable settee / bedalong the other side which will simply unbolt and come out when the vans in work mode and so it can remain a true multi-purpose van.
Although multi-purpose, the plan is that the camper will be nice and comfortable as a camper! Intending to fit sink, hobs, water, lights, compressor fridge, and leaving my options open for a heater, mini oven/grill later. (i.e. putting in the electrics etc for these now) Maybe even have an elevating roof one day…. but aiming to get it up and running as a camper during the next couple months.
The vans already got windows and I’m currently working on insulating the floor and sorting out my 12 volt electrics. I’m a professional woodworker, so lucky enough to have a workshop and tools.
Great site this. I spend hours reading the posts and viewing the pics.
If anybody local want to meet up and compare notes etc, then I’m up for that. (I’m near Taunton.)
