Luz and the campsite at Espiche, Algarve, Portugal

It’s a warm and sunny day. The waves are small at Luz today, so I decided not to go surfing. As it’s the weekend, and the surfing beaches are busier than normal, I decided to do a campsite to do my washing, etc.

I drive to the campsite at Espiche, which is between the two turns for Luz on the N125 road. I check in and pay the €7.50. I find a pitch, with as much sun as possible.

I drive to the campsite at Espiche, which is between the two turns for Luz on the N125 road. I check in and pay the €7.50. I find a pitch, with as much sun as possible. The campsite is very nice, and has shady pitches. However I have a solar panel, which I use for all of my power, and therefore do not have a 240v electrical hook-up. I have several jobs to do when at a campsite. I go to a campsite ever 2 to 3 weeks, free camping the rest of the time. My first job is to wash my clothes. After this I empty the chemical toilet, obviously the worst job, and it’s good to get it out of the way. After that I refill all of my fresh water, and then take a shower. The showers at this campsite are great, as they have taps which stay on, rather than push buttons. I keep my shower short though, so as not to waste water.

My jobs are done now, and I relax by reading and writing a little. Its sunny all day and I relax in the sunshine.
