As you are aware car systems
As you are aware car systems are 12volts. Therefore the only way you can get 240volts is to use an invertor be it hardwired by a specialist or an off the shelf bought item. Either way it is a very inefficent way of getting 240volts. If you are using high powered tools on a regular basis you need to buy a generator as this will in the long run cost you less money due to the fuel savings you will make.

    Invertors are an inefficent
Invertors are an inefficent way of getting 240 volts in your van. OK you may need one for some appliances but lap tops and phone chargers already run off or near to 12 volts! Why use an invertor to up the voltage to 240v so you can then plug in the laptop/mobile phone power supply which has a transformer that drops the voltage back down to the lower voltage.
If i was you i would just buy a universal lap top cigarette lighter power supply from amazon and save your self space and money. Same goes for your phone charger.
Without knowing the specifics of the electrical allpiances in your van its difficult to give a useful view on what chraging system and size of leisure battery would work best for your needs. More details needed please.

If i was you i would get the
If i was you i would get the cheapest one you can find with the highest current rating. It will eventually burn out so you don’t want to spending much.
At the end of the day a VSR is no more than just a relay in a fancy box with the connections marked up to make installation easier there is nothing “smart” or “intelligent about them. All relays sense voltage and engage.
