Failed MOT by about 10 pages………what now?

I didn’t know there were so many parts on a van that could need welding. bugger.
Well, as mentioned in my ‘bit about me’, I who know nothing and am nothing have been a really really bad vw owner. Now I am paying the price for that I guess.

Ok so my beautiful Dormabile has just failed its MOT on the worlds biggest list of welding (how when it was fine last year?) and now I have some really tough decisions to make.
I have No money to spend fixing this right now as we are in the middle of moving house and currently have no paint on the walls, no carpets, no bed, no freezer and no sofa. Hmmmm need I say that we have no time?
So what do I do now?. Well after crying like child for 24 hours I decided this morning to put a sign in the window, offering my baby for sale at the price I would like. Probably a bit more than most would pay but he is a rare early cross over model and to the right person he would be worth it and more. So while I wait to see if anyone wants to offer him a better home I will need to get quotes on the welding, cry a bit more and see where we go from there.
I may also look for a second opinion on the MOT as I think my local garage are taking the piss abit. they have mot’d it for the last 3 years but suddenly the horn isn’t loud enough, the windscreen washer isn’t good enough (they put a new pump in last year) and the hazard switch doesn’t light up if you rotate it( so don’t rotate it. its not a toy!). No idea what we did to upset to them but I reckon a second opinion might be well worth it. Grrr.

    It does sound a bit

    Hi Jerry

It does sound a bit strange that the garage that passed it last year has failed it on so much this year.

Before selling I would get a second MOT at a different garage. Then you’ll know for sure what really needs doing.
