Campsite and a good surf at Lagide beach

I decide to check out the campsite. It only costs €3 per night! I check in and do some jobs. The fish factories smell bad today. I go back to Baleal car park.

There is a small section of beach that is sheltered. I notice some people surfing there this morning, and a surf school had filled the beach there earlier, but there were only a few people there when I checked again.

There is a small section of beach that is sheltered. I notice some people surfing there this morning, and a surf school had filled the beach there earlier, but there were only a few people there when I checked again. I go in for a surf. There are some nice cleans waves, and I catch quite a few. It feels good to be surfing again. I am conscious of the dark rocks and reef under the water though. My guidebook says this is ‘urchin infested’, but I am not sure if this means the bigger break to the east or this bit as well. I take care anyway. I will use boots next time. I might try again tomorrow, as the forecast is for the same high winds.

Later at the campsite I get chatting to a guy in a campervan who I was parked next to last night. He is called James and from Bristol.
