Brussels and towards Paris

I drive into a suburb of Brussels. I walk into the city. The main streets leading into the city have been closed to traffic, and the shops have extended their sales into the streets. It’s a big party with people selling food and goods. There is a great atmosphere.

I walk towards the grand centre. I drink a Belgian beer at a street bar. It’s worth the reputation, it is very smooth.

The nearby fountain is bustling with tourists, but it’s a bit of a letdown. So I buy a Belgian waffle, which is fantastic. I got to the Musical Instrument Museum. At the museum you get a set of headphones. As you walk near a collection of instruments the music for the instrument plays in the headphones. The first floor alone is amazing. The further three floors are excellent.

I walk back to the van. I decide to head towards Paris. I enter France and start to drive on the toll roads. I stop for the night in one of the many rest areas on the side of the road.
