A sunny day in Peniche – yeah!

It is sunny in Peniche today. I drive from the campsite to Baleal. There is a nice clean wave at Lagide. I have a good surf. I chat with one of the Spanish guys from the motorhome, and have a surf with him. He and his amigo are off to other side of the bay to find bigger waves. There is a big tanker that looks like it has broke free from its mooring in the bay.

There is a big tanker that looks like it has broke free from its mooring in the bay. A tug boat is trying to pull it out of the bay, but it doesn’t seem to be getting very far.

I drive to Obidos, a local town, which was once surrounded by sea, when Peniche was an island. It is now 20km inland. It is a nice place, and I have a walk around. I drive back to Baleal. The drive is not enough to top up the batteries which have run low. If I continue to spend time in an area like I have been, which is likely, I could do with a way of topping up the batteries, or use my laptop less. A wind turbine would be great, but difficult to store. A solar panel would provide some energy, but would have to go in the dashboard. A mains charger for use in campsites is another option. I’m not keen to do any of them. I’ll see what happens.

More breaks in the bay are working, and Lagide beach is practically empty in the afternoon. I go in for a surf.
