Surf, sun and selling my surfboard in El Palmar, Andalucía, Spain

It‘s a beautiful day, the best for a little while. I park near the surf shop in the morning, with the aim of selling my surfboard, the T & C board I don’t use. Within 30 minutes a Spanish guy has agreed to buy it from me. He returns 30 minutes later with the money.

It‘s a beautiful day, the best for a little while. I park near the surf shop in the morning, with the aim of selling my surfboard, the T & C board I don’t use. Within 30 minutes a Spanish guy has agreed to buy it from me. He returns 30 minutes later with the money. I may buy a NSP epoxy fish surfboard, but I need bigger waves for that, so it might be better to just stick with my mini-mal.

The day sees lots of sunshine, but only little waves. I do have a little surf, but it isn’t great. Thomas, Pedro and Heather all appear throughout the day. I have only seen Heather once in the last few weeks. Things haven’t progresses as I thought they might. In the last few weeks I have been to Granada, and La Cala, just outside Malaga, where I spent several days with my friends Al and Tash. I was looking forward to returning to this coast. I have enjoyed being back here, but the weather hasn’t been great, and the surf has been lousy. I have done quite a bit of work over the last few days.

I emailed Aussie Steve, and got a quick reply from him. He is in Portugal, but says there are few waves there either. When I see the surf reports the Alentejo region of Portugal seems to have reasonable surf, and I am tempted to go there for a few weeks, before heading of to Barcelona for the Grand Prix. I downloaded this years races, which I had missed, so I am now up to date.

Maybe I will stay here for a little longer, maybe I will go to Portugal. I have talked of travelling with several people recently and I am keen to go backpacking now.
