Sandsend again

Well we packed the van and set off again for Sandsend. Me and Rider met Mark at work and got there about 6.40pm. It was a lovely evening and there were a couple of campers and a motorhome in the car park already. We set off for a walk along the beach and then headed to the pub, after a couple of halfs in the beer garden we went back to the camper.

Rider said he was ready for bed so we got his sleeping bag out and he was asleep in about 5 mins. Me and mark turned on the fairy lights, lit the lanterns and some candles and closed the curtains. It looked so lovely and cosy. We had a couple of drinks listened to the radio and went to bed.

Woke up after not such a good nights sleep to a glorious morning. I was pretty cold in the night even tho I had my fleecy pyjamas on so we have decided to sleep in our sleeping bag tonight (double) instead of just using it like a quilt. We went for a long walk along the cliffs and saw quite a bit of wildlife. Birds, insects (grasshoppers, butterflies), sheep and cows. we collected feathers and wildflowers, saw a disused mine shaft and waterfall. I think we must have walked about 4 miles, it was lovely. On our return we had dinner in the camper (full english :)) then decided to head off towards the beach. The motorhome was leaving as we were eating our dinner and had a lot of trouble getting out of the car park due to height restrictions. It took about 15 mins for him to ease the van out.

My dad rang on the way and said he would come down with his missus and the kids so we waited for them. Had a lovely afternoon messing about in the sea, sun bathing making castles etc till about 5.30 then my dad went home. We walked back to the camper got changed had a cup of tea then went out for dinner. Pub was very busy but managed to get table outside had lovely crab sandwiches and bowl of chips then walked rider in buggy till he fell asleep. Tucked him in then settled ourselves down for night. Another little camper turned up quite late so we were quite cosy all of us together. Had a much better nights sleep, but woke to a very miserable grey day, got everything packed away and set off about 8.05am to get Mark to work in time.

We are hoping to get a cheeky night away alone next week if my mum will babysit and we will be returning to sandsend. A couple of things need doing to the van, so we will try and get them done this wk. One hook and eye snapped off that holds the bottom bit of the bed together at one side, so that needs repairing and a screw needs to be put in to hold my mirror up as the velcro isnt working, but these are minor little things.
