I made these shelves to accept the iBass station, the satellite box and a rack for dvd’s. Incidentally, you should carry a fire extinguisher even if it does make the food taste funny.. the tv will be mounted on a swivel bracket below this lot so that I’ve got all the entertainment in one corner. Note that I’ve made the lower shelves with rounded corners to avoid smacking one’s head on a corner. Couldn’t do much with the dvd shelf in that department though. That iBass station used to live at the hideout before I found out that it runs on 12v via a transformer from the mains. I cut off the transformer, fitted a 12v plug and plugged it in. Result. Nobody’s noticed it’s missing yet either.. I haven’t permanently fixed any of these electrical items to the shelves. I want to be able to secrete them about the van when I’m in a town or wherever prying eyes and sticky fingers may be. The socket on the left is for 240v (obviously), with the 12v on the right housed in a neat little arrangement that holds both tv aerial inputs. The iBass is plugged into a double adaptor there, if you were wondering..
