The shower under construction. I got the thermostatic valve from a well known auction site, along with the ‘Ring’ portable shower pipe. I like these showers. They have 12v and battery supply, an adjustable flow shower head, a fixing bracket and even a bag to tote it around in. Cost me about £15. Remarkable value. I had to get some copper fittings and solder them together to attach the shower hose and I’ve also used Hep2o pipe fittings (the white ones, but they also come in grey). They are easy enough to fit but you must remember to use inserts if you aren’t using copper tubing! The thermostatic valve has a control on it, under the grey cap. This comes off so that the temperature can be adjusted. 30 deg. is comfy for hot water. The two in-line valves can also be turned to adjust water temperature and flow. The switch above controls the light and shower pump, the wires for which I’ve encased in the panel as it’s hollow. Yes, young Vanbuilder, it does seem to be on the wrong side of the wall, doesn’t it. This is because, as far as I know, it isn’t waterproof and therefore would make me a very unhappy camper if it got all soggy and went pop.
