The left hand side getting boarded. The metal sub-frame having been previously cut out. Notice the cables poked through. They’re in roughly the right position. As everything will be covered in tiles/carpet I decided not to be too exacting at this stage. I’d also decided that I’d like to have all the water inboard and stored at the back of the van. That way it wouldn’t freeze in winter, when I intend to do most of my travelling. With wanting to maximise the storage space in mind I cut a recess in the ply on this side to house a 5 gallon plastic water jerry can thingy (about £8). These can be carried to and from the filling tap relatively easily if you have to. There’s another two planned for the other side.
The swivel base came from ebay but was sold by a bloke who lives 6 miles away. Nice one. I’ve insulated the top half of the sliding door here but changed my mind about it after. Getting enough natural daylight in became somewhat important when I thought about overall battery usage. As you do.
