I ran the cables through the inner framework but noticed that some edges where the cables touched were pretty sharp so I used silicone sealant to form a flexible cushion around them. This prevents the sheathing rubbing and causing short circuits later. Sets like rubber. Neat idea huh? Well, not a very neat job but it’s done for effect rather than appearance.
