Hello!
Here are a few photo’s of our conversion of our Citroen Dispatch 1.9D 1999. Some might call it a day van, we look on it as a base vehicle to carry our camping gear, giving us the flexibility of a van for everyday life, but able to sleep inside ‘when needs must
So all our gear, food, clothes etc are carried in custom made boxes that stack in door sliding recesses and on the captains seats(when facing rearwards) this leaves a space approx 6’x 3’4″ plenty if you still like to ‘snuggle up’ most campers do, even if it’s only to keep warm!
A custom made roof rack holds the rest of our gear, four 5 Litre fuel cans, inflatable canoe, tool box and spare parts, sand tracks, and a leisure battery, topped up by a 60 watt roof mounted Solar panel mainly for when parked up, otherwise charged from vehicle while on the move.
As our next big expedition is to Australia we have fitted a ‘Roo Bar’! From our previous experiences, an essential item in the outback, once those ‘Big Boomers’ decide to cross the road, they cross!
So that’s got things under way we will endeavour to keep up with more photo’s of the finished project before we depart in August. regards Bill & Penny
