My job and my penchant in car and in trip make me interested to have new experiences. For domestic and off-road trips I have some cars such as Ssangyong Musso six-cylender, LandRover Defender and Patrol. Also have a historical car a Volkswagen181 (1991 model) for my collection.
But for long and away trips I need a van with living facilities and I’m going to Europe for the first trip with this van. In other words that be my home. I decided to buy a van. Change it according to my liking and convert it into campervan.
After thinking and checking about available vans in my country and about them conversion costs I met suitable case: a Kia Besta Diesel Van (1990 model). This van has a diesel engine, 2000cc. Interestingly this model has tow differential and automatic locking hub!!
I purchased the van and got it back to my workshop where it will live for the next few months whilst it is being worked on.
Firs examined the engine and its technical. I replaced some of its components such as ring and pistons, bearings, crankshaft, clutch plate and disc, valves and timing belt.
Now the technical part of the van is finished and I want to get involved in interior desing. I want to put this equipment in my campervan:
• Icebox
• Microwave
• Washing machine
• Gas stove
• Sink
• Wardrobe and Cupboard and drawer
• Chairs and bed
Now picking these items is my challenge.
