Lisbon day 1

At 0905 I caught the bus from Porto Covo to Lisbon. The journey takes about 3.5 hours, and the views were good. It was a lot nicer to see Lisbon out of the window as a passenger, rather than the driver. The bus stopped at the depot by the zoo.

I caught the Metro to the station near the youth hostel, and left my bag there.

I caught the Metro to the station near the youth hostel, and left my bag there. I took a walk down the main avenue, taking a detour to the Amerarios shopping centre. The shopping centre was a bit of a disapointment. It was much smaller than I was expecting. I left and carried walking into the city, towards Baixa Lisbon. I walked around for an hour or so. The rain turned really heavy and I decided to head back to the youth hostel.

I checked in to the youth hotel. It is a reaonable hostel, probably the best of the HI hostels I have stayed in. My room mate is a cheaky Japanese guy. A french guy later joins our room. During the night another guy takes the last bed. In the evening I take a little walk around the area, before hitting the sack early.
