ParticipantPersonally, Putting a pop up
Personally, Putting a pop up into a high top, I reckon would be expensive, time consuming for not alot of gain.
I would have thought there would be ample room with the right design in a LWB high top without having to put in a pop up which wouldn’t be cheap to buy before even fitting it.
I would do my sums very carefully before doing it.
You can sometimes overspend on a conversion and it can be money you will never retrieve.June 10, 2012 at 1:10 pm #123465mgroadster

Participantkinda figured
looked at prices last night real expen and fitting on top…… dont think so… it was just a thought hoped someone had done one, be interested to find out,the plan in my head (mullin things over) just with my r1 in the van i was thinkin sleep above it on a permanent bunk no dimantlin the bed make it into table seatin etc not a problem really seen a bloke do it on youtube called mikemccannable ,sweet build but he didnt have alot of headroom to sleep, the pop up would make it nice but like you say to fu==ing expensive. i do like the look of the sprinter lots of room tempted by the extra long ldv iveco but dont think the reliability would do my temper any good lol dont fancy spendin loads of cash an get no where for breakdowns
cheers for your reply opinion

ParticipantI drive a MK6 Transit LWB
I drive a MK6 Transit LWB High top. Theres just the two of us and plenty of room especially when we can put up the 6 berth driveaway awning. At least with high tops you can stand up in em without crawling about.
If you build a system that has a quick bed to seat conversion, it really doesn’t take long. Yes I can understand wanting a permanent bed, but costs can far outweigh the practicalities.June 10, 2012 at 4:06 pm #123480mgroadster
