Fitted the radio and got road tax

I got road tax for the van today today. I had to go to the local DVLA office in Truro as the vehicle had previouly been registered as tax exempt. I filled in the forms and got the tax disc.

I am keen to give the engine a reasonable service, and the transmission eventually, but would rather have a service manual for advice on anything unusual.

I am keen to give the engine a reasonable service, and the transmission eventually, but would rather have a service manual for advice on anything unusual. I haven’t owned a diesel engined vechicle or a large van before. I’m not expecting any trouble, but one never knows. I have orded a manual which should arrive soon. Haynes don’t do a manual, so I ordered one from a different publisher.

I went to Flying Sparks in truro and the nice helpful chaps had some advice about speaker positions. I bought a Clarion CD MP3 player and 4 powerful 6×9 speakers, two for the cab and two for the back, and all for £150. As the dashboard speakers are missing, and are also tiny, my dad cut the cab speakers into the bulkhead at the bottom, whilst I wired up the stereo. I add new speaker wire from the dash, around the doors and to the bottom of the bulkhead. We connect it up and it sounds good. Not as nice as I would like, as I listen to a lot of music. But pretty good for a large empty van. The speakers in the back will be fitted once the seats are made.

Forgot to take my digital camera so there are no pics for this entry.
I am going to finish the lining this weekend. Its Easter weekend so I will get a couple of days of work done on the van. I have the lining prep to do first, wires for the lesuire battery circuits, and a water waste pipe.
