Electrics

I decided to fit only 12v electrics, to ensure wild camping was always possible.
I fitted a leisure battery and a split charge relay unit to charge it. The leisure battery was automatically charged when the engine was running.

I fitted a leisure battery and a split charge relay unit to charge it. The leisure battery was automatically charged when the engine was running.
I used a fuse box to wire in the fridge, 2 x 12v lights and a 3-way 12v socket bank for phone and laptop chargers. I also changed the CD player from the engine battery to the leisure battery.
3 switches where add to switch the fridge on and off, switch the fridge between ignition only or battery feed, switch on or off the 3-way 12 socket bank.
I latter added 2 more leisure batteries, to allow several days of camping without a charge. This later proved very useful. The fuse box and relay unit where housed in a box under one of the seats. A battery level indicator and the switches where added to the book cupboard for easy access.
