Capbreton, Biarritz and Bidart

I walk to beach, the surf is much smaller. I don’t want to surf here as the nearby factory is a concern. I drive into Capbreton but the waves are messy. I drive onto Anglet and Biarritz. Anglet is much smaller than I imagine. The weather is very rainy, so drive onto Biarritz.

Biarritz looks as I would imagine. The beachside roads and apartments are nice to see, even in the rain.

Biarritz looks as I would imagine. The beachside roads and apartments are nice to see, even in the rain. I find a recommended beach, but it is busy with a kayak competition. The main beach is crowded and rocky. I drive onto Bidart. I cannot park at the beach as there is an exhibition there. I drive around and around trying to find a place. I decide to find a campsite. I check into the Des Pins campsite. The campsite is good.

I see people walking across the campsite with surfboards. I ask at reception and it a 10 minute walk to the local beach. I grab my things and go down. It is a nice little beach. Overlooking it is a really nice campsite. The prices at the reception seem expensive though. It is closed tomorrow so I think I am better in the Des Pins site. I also think that the noise from the crashing waves might also be very loud at night.

The surf is of a good size, but the onshore winds make it messy. I surf for a while, but find it hard. Some Germans who are opposite me in the campsite are also there.

I have a beer in the campsite bar than night. I later realise that the woman who served me at the bar is British, even though we talked in French.
