Hi bought an old transit camper this summerand love it, Yorkshire Wales the lakes great adventures. The van is 26 years old and great inside , outside it show its age and at M OT time it may be a problem. So here’s the question, what does it cost for insurance on a van that you convert yourself .I only pay a couple of hundred at the moment .

I think the insurance cost is similar. I have a van I converted myself. It is not registered as a campervan with the DVLA, but I insure it via http://www.campton.co.uk/. It costs about £300 per year.
I lived in the van for a year, in Europe, and the insurance cost about £400 that year.
