Hi
Myself and my girlfriend have decided to slip the “Surly Bonds” of normality and clear off to travel and live around Europe in our motorhome.
We are considering towing a box/van trailer as a more secure stowage for our motorbike and bicycles etc.
Appreciating that it does compromise the “Keep it simple” ethos and of course considering the additional costs on road tolls, ferries and some campsites, we are debating if it is a viable proposalWould appreciate it very much if anyone had experience or tips they could give us.

You talk of a Motorhome and not a camper?
Do I take it that you are actually taking all the trappings of the “surly bonds” of normality in the trailer?
I see nothing wrong in the trailer idea, although you will need to ensure that it is safe and secure at all times, especially when you leave your site and maybe just leave the trailer,
Also ensure it cannot be quietly unhitched whilst asleep (It has happened).
Adequate security measures will be your biggest task.December 6, 2012 at 6:51 am #120878mgroadsterParticipantYou talk of a Motorhome and

– Due to overall length with your vehicle with the trailer parking and finding camping spots can be more difficult.
– The trailer’s weight and added drag will considerably increase fuel usage.
