    hi me the wife two small kids and dog would like to buy a t5 for conversion ie bed cooker sink cupboards etc we will need to be able to drive up some steep hills but not worried about driving at light speed can we buy a 1.9 104ps or will we need the more expensive 2.5 130ps many thanks

    To gauge it for yourself you really need to drive the 1.9 and see if it gives the performance you need.
    Modern vans are much more powerful than the old ones.
    I had a 1996 Mercedes Sprinter 2.3L. Was quite slow. Just bought a bigger but newer 2002 2.2L Sprinter and it’s much much quicker.

    I think the 1.9 is a TDI? The TDI is very powerful.
    I suspect the 1.9 TDI will be enough power for you, but you’ll need to drive it to find out.
    Try test driving a new one at your dealer, or find one used for sale.
