She has been dearly loved by us (an Aussie couple), and we’ve spent up big kitting her out for adventures, which have included a UK tour, Europe tour and the UK festival circuit. She is a real head-turner wherever you setup and always a great conversation starter with fellow campers. Even with well over 200,000 miles on the clock she drives perfectly and is always reliable. Her life started as a Welsh non-emergency patient transport ambulance with the NHS where she was in service for over 10 years. During this time the NHS spared no expense in keeping her serviced and maintained to an extremely high standard (reliability being paramount) which shows in the excellent mechanical condition she is in to this day. As a camper, she offers all the features of a motor home worth 4 times as much in a great value van with real character and quirkiness. VAN FEATURES:

ECONOMICAL AND RELIABLE 2.5 litre Diesel Engine (made it the whole way round Europe last year with no issues), cruises happily all day long at 60-65 mph.

Virtually no rust (recently cut out, fibreglassed and painted the few spots that were around the front wheel arches). Ambulance section is fibreglass bodied so quite light and no concerns with rust.

FULL EUROPEAN BREAKDOWN KIT supplied (warning triangles, hi-vis vests, full tool kit and spare bulb and fuse kit).

CAMPER FEATURES:

FULL ACCESS FROM CAB SECTION TO CAMPER SECTION (unlike many of the UK ambulances).

3 BERTH – Bunk bed with double futon on the bottom that converts into a comfy couch during the day and full size single bed up top.

CALOR GAS OVEN/GRILL/DOUBLE HOB takes care of all cooking duties and can be run either on Calor gas or Camping Gaz when travelling on the continent (both regulators and bottles supplied).

EBERSPACHER 12 VOLT DIESEL HEATER – Originally installed by the NHS to keep patients warm – these units are not cheap to buy. Ours has just been removed and fully serviced by Hals Auto Electrics for many more years of hassle free economical heating (wired to leisure circuit).

ELECTROLUX MEDIUM SIZED 3-WAY FRIDGE. Runs from a 12 volt outlet when driving, 240 volt when camping with electric hook-up and Camping Gaz at all other times (bottle supplied).

FULL LEISURE ELECTRIC SYSTEM wired professionally by Bristol Auto Electrics to a big 110 AH leisure battery under the bonnet which is fully automatic split charged linked to starter battery when engine running or charged via a 240 volt fully automatic battery charger when camping with electric hook-up. The sound system, fluro lighting in camper, fridge and multiple 12 volt hella plug outlets throughout the vehicle (for charging phones, running inverters etc.) are all wired to this system and you can run all of these for as long as you like without the worry of flattening the starter battery which is completely independent. A dash mounted voltmeter shows how much charge remains and at a full charge. The system has enough power to run the sound system and charge phones etc. for days without a recharge.

VERY LONG ELECTRIC HOOK-UP LEAD on a small drum with adapters for 3 different types of hook-up socket.

DIGITAL COMBINATION SAFE which is securely bolted to the body and is large enough for SLR cameras and laptops.

FANTASTIC SOUND SYSTEM comprising of new JVC head deck (with auxiliary input for iPods etc.), new JVC 4” speakers in dash, new 6×9” speakers in pods in the camper (on long leads so you can take them outside when camped up) and a 12” sub all powered by a JVC 4ch hi powered amp under the passenger seat. – system completely wired to leisure circuit so no worries about flattening the starter battery when enjoying your tunes when camped up.

SMALL SINK under flip-top kitchen bench plumbed into a small water tank with 12-volt pump and portable wastewater tank supplied.

ALL KITCHEN AND COOKING GEAR supplied (pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils and cutlery) – everything you need.

CAMPING CHAIRS AND STOOLS AND PORTABLE CAMPING TABLE supplied.

PLENTY OF STORAGE throughout the van in cupboards, lockers and under bed for clothing and all your gear. Even has enough space to store a moped if you like.
