Hi all
Just got my first campervan (yee haa). It’s a renault traffic T1000 1.9 diesel, 1999, with recon engine. Converted to a high top, dont know when or where. It has 2 captains leather seats up front and sleeps 2 with hob, sink and fridge in the back. Has hook up and sockets and leisure battery and porta potti.
Any tips or comments or running/maintaing the van would be great, as I am a total novice. Setting off to Whitby in it tomorrow, about 2.5 hours from here to see how it goes and figure how everything works. Longer term plan, if all goes well, is dover-calais in July, drive through France down to Barcelona then get Ferry back to UK from Santander.
Happy Campervaning all x

My tips are
Hi AlisonMy tips are generally
– If you drive at 50mph or so you’ll use less fuel and put less stress on the engine
– Only carry as much water as you need, as it is extra weight
– Keep the outside as clean as possible as it will keep the rust away
– Service it every year, it will last longer
– Charge your leisure batteries before you head off. This should happen with the hookupSounds like a great adventure
All the best
