    quick intro.
a couple of years ago we brought a mazda bongo (after quite some time wanting one).it was lovely to drive and we we toured ireland and a few other places in it and loved the campervan lifestyle.
but it was just to small and a big hassle everytime you wanted to cook sleep or socialise.
so we sold it i had a bike and th ewife had a convertable only to sell shortly after to buy a big white van,any would do,a boxer would of been nice but funds dictated we had a.
LDV maxus, not many people have converted these but what a great van.
its took me a long time to convert it how we want it and weve only just started using it.
weve just(jacqui, steve and 4 year old skye)just been to a relatively local place for two free nights wild camping around bakewell in the peak district and had a great time and cant wait otgo touring france and the pyreeneese next year.
will try to post few pics
van works a treat with full fixed double bed, single bunk, oven fridge hob,tv playstation and more lighting than blackpool, not to mention the vast amout of storage space
    steve…

  1. few finishing touches to do
few finishing touches to do as you can see.
    got to finish seat.
get leasure battery relay sorted for charging (may need help with that)
get blinds for newly fitted windows.
    make clip on dining table.
maybe put warm water tank on roof.
may fit pc in there somewhere
the list goes on but for now summers here it will do

  2. Nice to hear from you
Nice to hear from you guys.
That’s a great story, and a great looking van.
I hope you have many happy travels.

  3. Hiya
That’s a nice looking interior. Did you build everything yourself or convert ready made cupboards etc?

    1. everything has been scratch
everything has been scratch built.it took a long time to do with having run a buisness and keep a family happy but its been worth it.weve used it for about 4 or 5 nights now and plan on using it most weekends when i catch up with me bills after paying for it.
the reason i decided to trade my wifes convertable in for the van was the last two holidays in france and wanting to tour down to the pyreneese.
must admit the best things we decided to do was to fit an oven and fixed bed.you can litteraly stop anywhere for a snooze and the cooking we did(with lasange, garlic bread and all trimings followed by local brought apple pie warmed in the oven with custard was fantastic.
and on the sunday of our last trip we had a full on sunday dinner with wine on the car park of the dog show we went (snooze after before driving of course.
will post a few more pics of van and vast amount of storage when i get chance.
the amount of interest its had when weve pulled up anywhere is amazing.
