Hello all, great site
Our first (!) question, need to add 2 extra seats. Anyone used flip up seats? Thinking of trying to add one behind front passenger seat facing backwards.
Any advice on where to get? Is secondhand safe? Can we try and fit or should we get a professional to do?

I haven’t fitted seats, but my advice would be to get seats with seat belts already fitted, then you don’t have the problem of trying to fit a seat belt.
Double – http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MINIBUS-SEATS-TWINS-WITH-SEAT-BELTS-AND-SINGLES-WITH-BELTS-AND-FOLDING-MECHANISM-/180981486480?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CommercialVehicleParts_SM&hash=item2a23565390#ht_500wt_1315

I would fit it myself also. Typically fitting requires drilling holes through the van floor, but using a spreader plate on the underside to spread the load and stop the bolts pulling through.September 27, 2012 at 10:36 am #121488DarrenKeymasterI haven’t fitted seats, but

Thanks for that, would not of thought of mini bus seats and yes with the seatbelts already attached will make life easier! On a side note, anyone got any recomendations for a decent drill? Not sure ours would cope.September 27, 2012 at 6:18 pm #121494conleyclanParticipantThanks for that, would not of

I have a Bosch 18v cordless drill. It’s very good.
Dewalt are my favourite, but expensive. Sometimes you can find them cheap.
To be honest for big drilling jobs get a cheap 240v mains drill. They have a lot of power. Just make sure it is vary speed so you can start slow.September 27, 2012 at 6:20 pm #121500DarrenKeymasterI have a Bosch 18v cordless
