Participanthi i’m hoping someone can give me some advice on a repair i need done on a leyland daf minibus 400 series (1994) which is fitted with airbags over leaf springs for the rear suspension. the plate at the top of the bag on one side is corroded so now leaking badly, and the rubbers are well perished. turns out these units are quite scarce (obsolete) and ones i’v found are gonna be over £200 each………….
i’m thinking replacing the airsprings with coil springs might be a better option, to avoid future problems.
i wonder if anyone has ever done a job like this and can help me make the right decision.? the garage i use haven’t done this before and they aren’t sure what it would entail with regards fittings…
any thoughts or suggestions much appreciated !many thanks, jayne

Hi JayneDo you have a LDV/Leyland specialist garage in your region? If so contact them and see if they have covered this before.
They might be able to say ‘yes, this is possible’, which means you can ask them to do it or return to your local garage and ask them to do it.January 27, 2014 at 10:57 am #116663Darren
