    Hey whomever is reading this;
    I am taking my driving test in a month… I do not know much about any vehicle let alone campervans but am currently saving mega hard to travel the world in 2 years. I plan to have £20,000 saved by the time I leave it is a little ambitious but I am aiming high!
    Firstly I want to know whether it is actually possible to travel the world in a camper, I want to travel from the UK through eastern Europe, Russia, China, down to South East Asia boating over to Australia to work for a bit then over to NZ, then to South America working my way up to US and to Canada hoping to work along the way. I know this is also a very ambitious route but I want to know whether it is logistically possible as I cannot find much information regarding this online all I keep getting is about travelling NZ in a camper…
    After knowing that this is logistically possible I need advice on the best, cheapest way to get a camper/convert another vehicle into something capable of this adventure.
    I hope someone can help and am extremely appreciative of any help I can get!
    Thanks in advance;
    Billy

    Hi
    Hi

    Great to hear of your adventures.
    In short, yes, this trip is possible.
    Last time I looked into this, the problem was crossing Burma, as vehicles could not do this. I read of a motorbike rider who shipped his bike across Burma. But the situation is changing in Burma, so it may be possible to drive across by the time you get there.

    Here is an amazing story of Otto, a G Wagen that was driven around the world.

    I think you will need to very carefully understand the visa and border crossings of all of the countries you intend to visit. Also research the shipping between the continents.

    A good TV program to research is Long Way Round, where Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman ride motorcycles around the world. This programs gives an insight to the remoteness of many of the countries, the problems with visas and border crossings.

    hey billy, I was planning something similar..
    But my dream probably will not manifest for another 4 years.

    I’m a little concerned about the purchase of a campervan.
    I’ve looked at http://www.gumtree.com/ http://www.ebay.co.uk/ etc etc.
    I figure it’s best to purchase in UK because of the language.

    Would you be interested in having a companion traveler for 2-5 days?
    I can definitely make it worth your while by paying all the gas that week.
    I have a USA license. [email protected].
