I know it’s been a long time since my post about getting the Sprinter so I thought seeing as things have actually started to happen I ought to update you and let you in on just what an indecisive old fart I realy am!

The story so far;

The Reimo interior from the transit never got removed. In the current climate I decided to sell her complete to fund the Merc’s convertion and managed to get the same for her as I’d paid for her four and a half years ago, so that was a result.

I bought a Luna Delta caravan to provide all the bits and bobs I needed to do the job and found that I’d actually bought a lemon and most of it’s turned out to be useless to me! Never mind though, it gave me a nice set of cabinet doors, a cassette loo, (minus cassette!), a ‘Plug-in-systems’ power supply/charger/distribution unit and complete kitchen set of fridge, 4 burner hob/grill, oven and sink.

It did leave me needing windows again, but I managed to pick up a 1450mm x 550mm Seitz unit, in white, from a dealer in Norfolk for a very much reduced price. It had been in the storeroom for a fair while and has a couple of superficial little cracks in the corner of the outer frame, certainly nothing to worry about weighed against an 80% discount on the price!! I’m now waiting for a couple more to turn up for the front panels, 1000mm x 550mm, clear on white or black in case you happen to have any laying around!

As she sits at the moment my labours for the first few months amounted to putting in a single seat for the missus and removing the bulkhead. The tally now, after having just had a panic-building-week early on this month is thus;

The roof is insulated with 40mm polystyrene and fibreglass matting,the roof is now lined with 4mm ply covered in automotive lining carpet, the big window is in the offside rear and mostly lined. The wiring is all in and ready to conect as and when systems need them and the new floorboarding is down and covered in lino!

I still can’t work out how to get the photo’s on here so I’ve put them all an my facebook page, you’ll find me at ‘Steven A Whitt’, I’ve put a little bit of blurb on each one but if you want to know any more just leave me a mesage and I’ll let you in on my secrets!

That’s it for now, got to go back to bed, we went away for a few days in her and managed to get ourselves a dose of flu! It’s not nice!

Kind regards to all,

Fishdoctor.
