    Hey.

We bought a converted renault, all done and lined in wood, but realized after our first (chilly) night it has no insulation. Only the wood lining.
We’ve been reading around for some time while we were searching for a van about conversions, but you could say we’re not close to know what we’re talking about.

Our question; how advisable is it to hit the road with no insulation? Our first night in South France; as said was pretty chilly, yet it seems like ridiculous work to take the whole van apart to put it back again… The van was from an old couple who used it once a year in summer for holidays. Is there any other option to keep us warm without insulation? Or is that just silly? We’re going to be living out of it full-time, so we will hit some chilly places at some point.

All advice is welcome and extremely appreciated!!!

May the road God’s be with you all.

If you only use the van in
If you only use the van in warm-ish conditions you should be able to get by without insulation.
If you can find access holes into the areas behind the panelling you may be able to inject spray foam insulation.
