Hungarian border crossings

It takes about 20 minutes to cross into Hungary. Most Customs officials speak English. The officials often look inside vehicles.
A HF300 (£0.82) tourist tax is payable, per person, per night. Over seventies are exempt.

Supplies in Hungary

Hungarian ATMs accept major credit cards and normally work fine.
Fuel and LPG
are readily available. Costs about £0.73 per litre.
Supermarkets are throughout Hungary. Stores include Tesco, Spar and Lidl.

Driving in Hungary

Hungarian roads are generally in good condition. Main roads are well signed. Many roads have been improved and upgraded in recent years. A vignette is required if you use the motorways.

In the village of the same name which is in the Bukki National Park in eastern Hungary, near to the city of Miskolc. The small mountain site with excellent facilities is well worth a visit. There are a selection of walks available from the site, maps on request. The site owners are extremely friendly and helpful.
