    Hey,
    We’ve just spent 5

    Hey,

We’ve just spent 5 summer months in Europe, ending in France, I would say the Aires book is a defo to purchase. We didnt and struggled to start with, especially in the south of France. We attempted to photocopy pages from people we met who had the book! Hard work! So i’d defo recommend buying it.
They were fab though, offering anything from just parking up to wifi/parking/water and electricity. We didnt use any campsites at all in France, just the aires.

We didnt buy any camping club cards in the whole of Europe, never needed any.

We had (just sold her!) a T5 aswell Lucy and lived very comfortably in her for the 5 months. To be honest you really dont need much, its such a simple life and you need very little. After a few short breaks you’ll get a feel for your essentials.

Heres a quick list of random essentials i can think of!..
I found cleaning wipes ideal to just give everything a quick clean down.
    Food bags were used alot!
    Baby wipes
    A decent kettle.
A thing to stop your frying pan fat splashing everywheere, I dont know what the technical term is for it!
A comfy outdoor chair or blanket.
    Mozzi repelant.
    A notebook and pen.
We got back of seat storage holders for behind the passenger front seat, loads of small little pockets for little essentials to keep to hand.

    Scandinavia was mind blowing…

    Enjoy
    🙂

    Id vote mini bus 🙂
    Hi Graham

We bought a VW Transporter shuttle mini bus that we had converted. I love that shes fully windowed, for light and to make the most of the view! We got £1000 for the seats on Ebay!

We ‘unclipped’ all of the inside panels to insulate behind, not the easiest I dont believe (my boyfriend and his dad did it) but still do able.

Once our conversion inc plumbing and electrics was completed I contacted DVLA to have her reclassified, they needed pictures sending. I used the list that Darren has on here as requirements. I believe there isnt a offical list as such but Darrens was perfect.

So id vote mini bus!! 🙂

    Hi Bobngaz
    We have just

    Hi Bobngaz

We have just returned from 5months in Europe. Included in our trip we did Germany, into Switzerland, Austria, then Italy, then into France.

It was our first trip too and it has been fantastic! You will love it. We tended to wild camp and just use campsites when we needed a good clean! ha! We had no trouble anywhere, felt completely safe. We did hear that Italy and France we needed to have our wits about us, more than other places but we didnt encounter any trouble. It was a worry of mine before we went but it went amazingly.

We came into Germany by ferry from Sweden so cant really help with that. We did the east side of Germany then down the middle, then into Switzerland, then Austria from the West. We then entered Italy through the bottom of Austria, through the Dolomites, down the east coast, came across to the west at Florence etc then up along the west coast into the south of france.

I have wrote a journal with every place we stayed on the whole trip so could go into alot more detail if you needed. 🙂

Feel free to ask questions. I know how much this site/forums helped me before so im happy to help if i can 🙂
