This is a strange one. Do you have details about the lights? A link to the product online?

Is the consumer unit for main 240v hookup?
If so it probably only does something once the hook uk cable is connected.
Is there a fuse box for the leisure battery?
You could put a multimeter on the battery and pull the fuses to see which one makes the voltage go up/down.
Not exact but a good start.

I’ve never liked the beds that make use of a cab seat.
I wonder if it can be adapted to make a better bed?

    Hi Bandsman0

    Welcome.
Do you have a van? Are you planning a camper?

    Hi annem

This sounds like a great project and adventure.
What a great project for your grandson to get involved in.
Have you bought a van yet?

An inverter gives you more choice as you can plug in anything 240 volt.
Be sure to get a good quality pure sine wave inverter.
How many leisure batteries do you have?

    Hi Kevin

I suspect your fresh water tank has a tap to drain the water onto the ground. This is useful for flushing through and for draining for winter frost.
The grey water (waste) tank will also have a draining tap which is designed to empty into a drain that you park over, or into a bucket for tipping into the drain.

    Hi

What model of Waeco fridge is it?
I have a CR50 and with a good battery it will last 24 hours. That’s with the fridge on setting 3 and the ambient temperature being about 22 degrees. If it’s much hotter it will last less time on the battery.

12v is the point at which a 12v battery is considered flat (12.9v is charged), and it’s not recommended to use it down to 11v as you are likely to damage the battery.

Sounds like you need a new battery.

    Hi Gill

Do you plan to live in your van or just use it occasionally?
Campsites offer a more relaxed experience especially overnight.
Definitely hire a van first to see how you like the experience.
Height restrictions are quite straight forward. Just measure the height of your van first and have it written down in the cab.

It would seem any suitable fuse will work.
I did find this wiring kit which might be a great one-stop-shop for all you need?

    Hi

A 3.5 tonne Sprinter is able to be a total weight of 3.5 tonnes (3,500 kgs) on the road. This includes the driver, passengers and fuel. ie. the total weight of the vehicle if it was stopped at the side of the road and weighed.
This vehicle can be driven with a B licence.

The empty weight of a van like this is about 2.3 tonnes. So you have about 1.2 tonnes to play with.
    1.2 tonnes = 1,200 kgs.

    Allow 80 kgs per person.
100kgs for a tank of fuel.

This sounds like a good amount of foam and should be comfy.
I have used 4 inch traditional foam which was comfy, and then added another 1 inch of topper later mainly for more comfortable seating.

Sounds like a fun idea, but I’ve never seen one in a campervan.

I would imagine adding the pop top after the interior has been added would be quite difficult and hard to finish well.
Contact one of the pop top fitters though, as they will know for sure.
